Sense Factory

How we work.

Sense Factory is our working approach, not a methodology we sell. It is how we move from a vague ambition to something that holds up. Not every engagement runs through every stage, and rarely in a straight line.

  1. 01

    Understand the intent

What are you actually trying to accomplish, and why does it matter now? Intent is the thing most likely to be lost between the first conversation and the finished system, so we write it down early and keep returning to it.

  2. 02

    Frame the real problem

The stated problem and the real one are often different. We spend time on the framing before anyone reaches for a technology, because a well-framed problem changes what is worth building.

  3. 03

    Examine the complete system

Workflow, people, data, constraints, incentives and the technology already in place. Looking at only the software part is how organisations end up automating something that should have been removed.

  4. 04

    Prototype the smallest useful intervention

Build the least that would tell you something real. A small working thing answers questions a document cannot, and it is cheap to abandon if the answer is no.

  5. 05

    Validate outcomes independently

Check whether the thing does what it was supposed to do, using evidence rather than confidence. Where we built it, we say so, and we are explicit about what independent review can and cannot establish.

  6. 06

    Learn, refine, and scale

Feed what you learned back into the intent. Scale only what has earned it. Some of the most useful outcomes end with a decision to stop.

What this is not

A framework you have to buy into.

We are not going to hand you a diagram and bill you for following it. The stages above describe what we pay attention to; the shape of the work follows the problem, not the other way round.

Where the right answer is to stop, simplify, buy something that exists or avoid AI altogether, that is what we will tell you.
